ABOUT US
In 1980 Augusta Farley began Best Friends Pet Resort & Canine Academy in Santa Fe, NM as a dog boarding and training business. She moved the business to Patterson, California in 2000 growing it to the present 6200 square foot all indoor climate-controlled facility. Our dogs enjoy a full sized swimming pool, outdoor exercise yards for playtime and miles of nature walks. The kitties have plenty of space to romp in their rooms where they can watch our activities perched in the windows.
As a member of our pet resort, you can use the pool to swim your dog, play in the fenced yard or walk the acres surrounding the resort for a $5 fee. You can become member for free by having your dog's current vaccinations on file.

CHECK IN/CHECK OUT
- We charge by the night so you can pick up your pet anytime during our lobby hours until we close at 6pm for no extra fee.
- A $45 no-show fee may be assessed if a reservation is not cancelled within 24 hours
- A $45 late or after hours fee may be assessed.

MEET US
Augusta Farley, Owner/Operator CKO CPDT-KA CGC Evaluator began Best Friends Pet Resort & Canine Academy in Santa Fe, NM in 1980 as a boarding and training business. Augusta also breeds, trains and competes in sporting events with Belgian Malinois under the banner, Du Ciel Rouge. She is owned by a herd of Malinois which can be seen at www.ducielrouge.com. Augusta is heavily involved in the community advocating for dog rescue and sheltering and serves on two non profit boards as well as a county animal advisory board.
Melissa Landon, a graduate of Kaplan College, is a guest caretaker who does it all...cleans, cuddles, feeds, sometimes bathes and brushes, greets customers, and answers the phone. Because she has medical technician training she is designated as the staff member who specializes in medicating the dogs and cats. She lives with an adorable terrier by the name of Catch.
Claudia Ruiz CPCT began as a student intern and has blossomed into a wonderfully competent and caring staff member who can sweet talk our most reluctant little dog into being her best friend. She handles all the cleaning, medicates, feeding and general caretaking, holds the paws of the lonely dogs, greets customers and answers the phone. Claudia, a Patterson High School graduate, is a student at Modesto Junior College studying to be a veterinary technician. She lives with her family in Patterson.
Krystal Stinson, our perennially happy staff member, is a guest caretaker extraordinaire, customer greeter and receptionist. She is our designated bather and brusher and is in training to be able to offer clips and styles. Her calm demeanor has all the dogs and cats relaxed and comfortable in her presence, and as a bonus she can even handle the small critters. She lives with husband, David, her daughter, Emily, 2 dogs, 1 cat, 4 lizards and a chinchilla.
